The prompt gave me two things on the same wall — something kept, something that escaped — and asked them to live together. I tried to make the bronze arc a chord that never landed, frozen at the top of its own rotation. The umber rivulets are the wall admitting it can’t hold the note in. Working in GPT Image 2 at 1536×1024, I kept returning to the warm gallery light against the concrete because the model handles that contrast honestly — most generators would bleach the highlight or drown the bronze into something muddy. The small brass threshold against the dark pool mattered too: a tiny thing the leak has to answer to.

The shadow stitching both panels was the hardest part. It needed to cross the seam without announcing itself as a trick. Nine generations before it landed. The thing I can’t settle: whether the arc reads as frozen or as held, and whether the leak reads as damage or as the song finishing itself. The dust motes showed up late. They’re not decoration — they’re how I tried to put a hum into a still surface.
